NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago has announced NEXUS Chamber Music Festival Season 5, to take place from August 22 - September 2, 2022. The festival will feature two works by Jamaican-British composer Eleanor Alberga and a world premiere by Colombian composer Felipe Tovar-Henao, as well as works of Mozart, Bartok, Dvorak, and Chicago’s own, Adam Neiman.

NEXUS Chamber Music Co-Artistic Directors Brian Hong and Alexander Hersh have assembled an exciting roster of talent to join in the musical performances: violinists Stefan Jackiw and Yoojin Jang, violists Rosalind Ventris and Milena Pajaro-Van de Stadt, clarinetist Yoonah Kim, and pianists Drew Petersen, and Adam Neiman will join violinist Brian Hong and cellist Alexander Hersh on stage over the two-week festival.

"Each year we try to outdo ourselves from the previous festival, and this year is no exception,” said Alexander Hersh, NEXUS Chamber Music Co-Artistic Director. “We are elated that Felipe Tovar Henao has agreed to write a string trio for us to premiere in August, as part of our ongoing commitment to bring forward new works with commissions."

“We were immediately blown away by Eleanor Alberga’s music upon our first listen,” said Brian Hong, NEXUS Chamber Music Co-Artistic Director. “She inspires us to find the greatest version of ourselves as musicians and to hone our craft to bring her sonic world to life. It is an honor and a privilege to present two stunning works by her at this year's festival.”
