The nonprofit Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA) announces 24 local vendors for the 17th anniversary season of the Glenwood Sunday Market (GSM), which will operate every Sunday from June 7 to October 25 (closed June 28 and August 16), from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. On the southbound Glenwood Avenue between Morse and Lunt Avenues (west side of the CTA Red Line Morse stop), the market offers a variety of products ranging from meat, produce, dairy, honey, pickles, bakeries, sweets, tofu, flowers, and coffee. A ribbon-cutting will take place on opening day, June 7, at 8:45 a.m. by Alderwoman Maria Hadden from the 49th Ward Office, State Representative Kelly Cassidy, and Rogers Park Business Alliance Executive Director Sandi Price. This season, GSM will feature two activations: a “Dog Days of Summer” celebration on August 9 with a pup selfie station and trick-or-treating at GSM on the final Sunday, October 25. Then on October 25, to celebrate the last Sunday of GSM for the year, Glenwood Sunday Market will encourage patrons to dress up in costumes and trick–or–treat the vendors' tents while shopping.
Glenwood Sunday Market’s vision is to create an equitable, ethical, and secure local food system and has been combating food insecurity for the past 16 consecutive seasons. It was founded through the grassroots efforts and countless hours of work by many Rogers Park community members. Now, in its 17th year, Glenwood Sunday Market helps sustain the local food system and provides a significant revenue stream for local farmers and food producers.
Through Market for All, a food access initiative from Glenwood Sunday Market, GSM matches grants to market shoppers who lack access to and/or financial resources for fresh local food through LINK Cards and other SNAP card benefits, plus annual fundraisers. All vendors accept cash, and most accept credit and debit cards. LINK Cards and other SNAP cards are also accepted at GSM, with a grant match program continuing in 2026: every $25 SNAP transaction will be matched with an additional $25, thanks to the generous grant from LinkUp Illinois. No limit on transactions for LinkUp match as long as each swipe is $25. An additional $10 match will be given weekly once a week to every SNAP customer using their card through the Market for All program fundraising efforts.
Glenwood Sunday Market is a program of the nonprofit Rogers Park Business Alliance, with a vision to create an equitable, ethical, and secure local food system. Composed entirely of farmers and food artisans that work within 200 miles of Rogers Park, GSM’s mission is to make sustainable, regionally produced foods accessible to the whole community.
