A mix of classic tunes starred on the playlist at a recent concert at Munster's Theatre at the Center.
The trio Girls Like Us was in the house and celebrated America's 250th birthday with a 90-minute show featuring everything from wartime and patriotic tunes to hits from the Great American Songbook.
Girls Like Us features Laura Freeman, Marianne Murphy Orland and Beckie Menzie. Each of the vocalists take their turn in the spotlight while they each sing lead on various songs and then harmonize beautifully together on other tunes. Singer Menzie also performs on piano during the show.

The concert easily took audience members back in time and showcased wonderful melodies that were big hits through the decades. Throughout the show, the performers also spoke about the history of some of the songs and a bit about the artists who sang them.
Among highlighted numbers were "I'll Be Seeing You"; "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy"; "Dear Heart"; and "America The Beautful."
The group performed a strong medley of songs in celebration of Route 66 and traveling the U.S.A. That medley starred tunes such as "Country Roads," "Rocky Top," "Route 66," "Wichita Lineman," "Georgia," "Do You Know The Way to San Jose" and others.
