Lake County- This morning at approximately 4:30 a.m., Trooper Patrick responded to a single vehicle crash on I-65 northbound lanes at the 245 mile-marker. This location is two miles south of the first Crown Point exit, exit 247.
Trooper Patrick located a 2015 Honda GL1800 motorcycle that had sustained major damage. Trooper Patrick also located the rider nearby the motorcycle. He attempted to administer first aid; however, Trp. Patrick could not locate a pulse. The rider was later declared deceased at the scene by the Lake County Coroner.
The crash investigation shows that for an unknown reason, the rider, Eric D. Jones, 57, from Rex, GA, lost control of the motorcycle resulting in the crash. Mr. Jones’ family has been notified.
