Four shows and next season on sale this week!

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the on-sale date for four upcoming shows plus the season.

Single tickets for & JULIET; A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL; MEAN GIRLS; and YIPPEE KI YAY will go on sale this Friday, September 6.

The fall subscription package, featuring SHUCKED; CLUE; Porchlight Music Theatre’s Chicago premiere of TITANIQUE; the world premiere of ALI, a new musical celebrating the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali; Tony Award-winning Best Musical KIMBERLY AKIMBO; and Disney’s 30th anniversary production of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, will be available to new subscribers on Friday.

A Beautiful Noise

Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting, show-stopping American rock icon. With 120 million albums sold, a catalogue of classics like "America," "Forever in Blue Jeans," and "Sweet Caroline," numerous awards, and sold-out concerts around the world, Neil Diamond's story was made to shine on Broadway-and head out on the road across America.

Yippee Ki Yay (the parody celebration of Die Hard)

YIPPEE KI YAY: The Parody Celebration of DIE HARD is the acclaimed retelling of the classic film from Richard Marsh – Fringe First-winner, London poetry slam champion, BBC Audio Drama Best Scripted Comedy Drama award-winner and New York cop (one of these is untrue). This joyfully funny show returns to the USA following its hit 2023 debut.

When gunmen seize an LA skyscraper, off-duty policeman John McClane is the hostages’ only hope. This uplifting action romp (and unauthorized parody) celebrates the iconic 80s festive favorite while also telling the personal story of a life-long Die Hard fan. Essential viewing for Hans Gruber connoisseurs and newcomers alike.

Content warning: divorce, foot trauma, German terrorists.

Mean Girls

Mean Girls features a book by nine-time Emmy Award® winner Tina Fey, based on her screenplay for the film; music by three-time Emmy Award® winner Jeff Richmond; lyrics by two-time Tony Award® nominee Nell Benjamin; and original direction and choreography by two-time Tony Award® winner Casey Nicholaw.

Mean Girls opened on Broadway in April 2018 to rave reviews at the August Wilson Theatre, following its world premiere at the National Theatre in Washington, DC, in the fall of 2017.

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.

ALI (A World Premiere Musical)

ALI, a new musical  celebrating  the life and legacy of the heavyweight boxing champion and humanitarian Muhammad Ali,  will make its world premiere in Chicago this spring.  From his early days as Cassius Clay, growing up with dreams of greatness, to his transformation into Muhammad Ali, the legendary boxer and humanitarian – ALI follows the pivotal moments, the triumphs, and the struggles of the man who was not only ‘The Greatest’ inside the ring, but also a fighter for justice and a beacon of hope outside of it. Experience the story that’s as vibrant and powerful as the man himself. With an original score blending jazz, classical, hip-hop, funk, soul and rock and roll, ALI is a tribute to a man who continues to inspire millions around the world.

KIMBERLY AKIMBO

June 10 – June 22, 2025

A new musical about growing up and growing old (in no particular order), KIMBERLY AKIMBO is the winner of 5 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL.  It features Tony Award-winning book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire (Shrek), a Tony Award-winning score by Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), choreography by Danny Mefford (Dear Evan Hansen) and direction by Tony-nominated director Jessica Stone (Water for Elephants). Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. In this “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show” (The New Yorker), Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush … and possible felony charges. Ever the optimist, she is determined to find happiness against all odds and embark on a great adventure.
