The Footlight Players proudly present their 2025 Youth Summer Program production, Adventures of a Comic Book Artist, a comic-book-inspired musical comedy performed by a talented cast of local youth.

Performances will be held at Footlight Theatre, 1705 Franklin Street, Michigan City, Indiana, on:

  • Friday, July 11 at 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, July 12 at 2:00 PM
  • Sunday, July 13 at 2:00 PM

The show follows Stanley Leonardo Sappovitz, a janitor with dreams of becoming a comic book creator. When magical pens bring his superheroes—and villains—to life, Stanley must become the hero of his own story. The production is directed by Katelyn West, a former Youth Summer Program actress who now returns as Youth Director. She is joined by Mentoring Director Adrianna LeDonne and program assistants Michael Thomas, Veronica Thomas, and Lara West.

The cast and crew include: Mariah Arce, Mason Arce, Sean Bilderback, Aleena Eckman, Annabelle Edson, Alivia Filson, Sophia Filson, Livia Frye, Blair Gross, Alicia Hoffman, Alyssa Hoffman, Jayda Hoffman, Judah Hoffman, Eleanor Hopper, Pi Horn, Hunter Lee, Kyle Lemons, Rory McHugh, Arya Meisberger, Addison Moore, Gabriel Remson, Zakaree Remson, Jayce Swindell, Julian Swindell, Arielle Taylor, Braxton Taylor, Kyleigh Taylor, Victoria Vittetoe, Aubrey Wood, Madilyn Wyatt, and Makena Wyatt.

In addition to performing, the youth participants have taken the lead in designing and painting the set, creating and collecting props, and crafting their own costumes — bringing their comic book universe to life with imagination and teamwork.

Tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children and can be purchased online at www.tickets.footlightplayers.org.

Thanks to generous support from an anonymous donor and proceeds from 50/50 raffles held throughout the season, the Youth Summer Program is provided free of charge to all participants. This community-backed initiative gives young performers the opportunity to grow in confidence, creativity, and collaboration — all while bringing joy to local audiences.
