
Governor Eric J. Holcomb announced today that Ryan Hadley will be stepping down as the Executive Director of the Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED). Gov. Holcomb named OED Policy Director Julie Kempf as Acting Executive Director and Policy Director. Kempf has been with OED since 2020.
Kempf, who will continue as policy director, will assume the role as Acting Executive Director on Oct. 28.
Hadley was appointed as Executive Director with the Office of Energy Development in January 2022.
Under his leadership, the OED has accomplished the following:
- Increased the agency’s federal program portfolio from $1.5 million to $234 million.
- Restructured the agency’s mission and staff to be more responsive to Indiana’s current energy landscape.
- Created the Indiana Vehicle Fuel Data Dashboard to provide information about types of vehicle fuels in the state.
- Deployed the Commercial Solar & Wind Energy Ready Communities Development Center.
Hadley’s last day as Executive Director is Friday, Oct. 25.
Hadley, a native of Shelbyville, studied political science at the University of Southern Indiana and previously worked at the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Kempf earned a Master of Public Affairs and Master of Environmental Science from Indiana University.
