The Drowsy Chaperone is a joyful celebration of Broadway’s golden age of musical theatre. As the house lights dim, a lonely theatre lover settles into his favorite armchair and drops the needle on the cast recording of a beloved (and completely fictional) 1928 musical. Suddenly, the recording springs to life, transforming the stage into a dazzling spectacle of song, dance, romance, and outrageous comedy.

Directed by Marty and Wendy Golob, The Drowsy Chaperone is packed with show-stopping musical numbers, colorful characters, and laugh-out-loud moments.

Performances will take place in the Wilson Auditorium located at the South Bend Civic Theatre, 403 N Main Street, downtown South Bend. Evening showtimes are July 10, 11, 16, 17,18, 24, 25 at 7:30pm. Matinees are July 12, 19, 26 at 2:00pm. Tickets are reserved seating and range in price from $35-$27 and can be purchased at sbct.org or by calling the box office at 574-234-1112.

A pay-what-you-can preview performance will take place on July 9 at 7:30PM.
