The Drama Group will be “taking it on the road” in June!
First Michael “MJ” Renzi will direct the charming and irreverent comedy, THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST by Beth Henley, also author of “Crimes of the Heart,” at the Milord Studio in June and immediately after, the entire cast and production crew will hop on a plane to Hastings, England to perform at The Stables Theatre; continuing a 25-year long Exchange Program between The Drama Group and The Stables Theatre.
Show times for THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST are 7:30pm beginning Friday, June 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15; ADDED Saturday matinee June 15 at 2:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm June 9 and 16.

SYNOPSIS – THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST
Every Fourth of July in the small town of Brookhaven, Mississippi someone is crowned Miss Firecracker and Carnelle Scott is determined to win in spite of her tarnished reputation. Known throughout town as ‘Miss Hot Tamale,’ she’s out to change everyone’s perception of her so she can leave town in a blaze of glory. Together with her quirky friend Popeye and erratic duo of cousins, Elain and Delmount, she braves the odds to prove the world wrong.
The Miss Firecracker Contest is an American classic filled with heart and hilarity that will have you rooting for the underdog.
