**** Highly Recommended When I heard about Dog Man: The Musical, I had no clue. I knew it was a children’s show but that’s about it. So, I decided to invite my experts on all things kid, my niece Rebecca and her Review Crew – Winston and Maeve. Rebecca reported that the kids were excited to see Dog Man. Even her former tween was excited – at least till he remembered he was a teen! The show is colorful and creative. In fact, it’s a blast! 4 BIG Spotlights
Here’s what the Review Crew thought about Dog Man: The Musical
Maeve - I liked when he said Dr. Dookie and I liked the disco ball. I liked all of it, every little bit.
Winston – I liked how they used the disco ball. I liked the surgery when they made Dog Man during the 1st act. They followed the comic book story line. I like when the fish Flippy came to life. I liked Lil Petey and Petey. I liked Lil’ Petey’s voice a lot.
Rebecca – I’ve not read Dog Man, but my children have. I really enjoyed the musical. It was very family friendly and had lots of activity. I found it entertaining. My kids were sitting at the edge of their seats the whole time. Normally the second act is hard to get through but not Dog Man.
A brief Dog Man summary: Middle schoolers George (Marquise Neal) and Harold (Mundo Ballejas) decide to write a musical about crime-biter, Dog Man, their favorite character. They decide to build their own Dog Man (Brendan James Butorovich), so they put the head of a dog on the body of a policeman. Dog Man has to save the city from Petey (Jake Wernecke), the world’s most evil cat, and Flippy (Glory Yepassis-Zembrou), the cyborg fish and the army of Beasty Buildings. When Petey decides to clone himself – for double the evil doings – he gets Li’l Petey (Sadie Jayne Kennedy) a kitten with the world’s squeakiest voice. By the way, George and Harold have to finish the show before lunch.
