South Shore Arts is excited to present “DAVe Summer Members Juried Show” in the Gallery at Substation No 9 in Downtown Hammond, Indiana, 435 Fayette Street, Hammond. This exhibit will showcase a collection of over twenty recent artworks created by members of the Diversified Arts Visionaries artist group, also known as DAVe.
The Diversified Arts Visionaries were initially started at the request of Dyer town members, since then the group has continued to expand welcoming over 30 individual members who are both artists and art enthusiasts with a mission to enrich communities by developing an enthusiastic environment that supports the arts.
This juried exhibition will host an awards reception on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1–3 p.m.. The juror for this exhibition is artist, Mary Ann Trzyna. Mary Ann Trzyna graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a degree in studio arts. Trzyna is a full-time artist with a studio at Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights. She has curated shows at Union Street Gallery and serves on their exhibitions committee.
Six one-hundred-dollar Merit Awards will be presented to selected artists for this exhibit courtesy of the Perryman Art Studio.
“Diversified Arts Visionaries: Summer Members Juried Show” will take place July 5 through August 3, 2024 in the Gallery at Substation No 9. An awards reception will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1–3 p.m. with awards starting at 2 p.m. at Substation No. 9.
