The National Association of Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) elected Lt. Kenton Turner as chairman for the 2021-2022 year during its 62nd annual meeting last month.
Turner has served as Indiana's boating law administrator since 2013, the year he graduated from the NASBLA Leadership Academy. He was elected to the NASBLA Executive Board in 2016 and is currently serving his sixth year as a member of that board.
NASBLA is a national nonprofit organization that works to develop public policy for recreational boating safety. NASBLA represents the recreational boating authorities of all 50 states and the U.S. territories.
Turner graduated from Vincennes University with an associate of science degree in conservation law enforcement. He began his career as a field officer with the DNR Law Enforcement in 1992 and has also held a role as training lieutenant. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Police Executive Leadership Academy.
