Grants totaling $418,066 are available to fund urban forestry projects throughout Indiana.
There are three separate grant opportunities available. All three have the same application deadline, Sept. 4, 2024; however, each grant has different parameters, funding levels, and project types. Please read the application instructions for each carefully. You may apply for more than one grant but receiving funding for more than one grant is not guaranteed. Funding announcements will be made by Oct. 4, 2024.
Community & Urban Forestry Assistance (CUFA) grant - $230,000 available
- Projects may include inventories, management plans, tree plantings, and more.
State Urban Forest Resilience (SUFR) grant - $148,066 available
- Funding for managing and recovery from the emerald ash borer.
- Projects may include removal of dead ash trees, treatment of ash trees, and tree plantings.
Natural Disaster Recovery (NDR) grant - $40,000 available
- Funding for the recovery from a natural disaster.
- Projects may include development/updating storm recovery response plan and tree plantings.
