Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle (ORV) accident that occurred Monday (3/4/2024) in Colfax.
At 5:44 p.m., Clinton County Central Dispatch received a 911 call of an ORV crash in the 300 block of North Meridian Street involving injury.
First responders on scene located Timothy Valenta, 59, of Colfax, inside the ORV and unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead. Two passengers sustained minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing. No helmets were in use at the time of the accident.
Other assisting agencies include the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Colfax Fire and Emergency Medical Service (EMS), Clinton County EMS and the Clinton County Coroner’s Office.
Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public that ORV operators and passengers should always wear a helmet, protective riding gear, and use all ORV safety restraints.
