Hilton | Asmus Contemporary (3622. S Morgan Street) announced that it will host an exclusive evening with supermodel Cindy Crawford and world-renowned British fine art photographer David Yarrow to celebrate the opening of their upcoming exhibition CHANGING LANES on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will feature Yarrow's newest works, including a re-creation of Cindy's iconic 1992 Pepsi ad, with proceeds benefiting the UW Kids Cancer Program. Taking place at Hilton | Asmus Contemporary’s new location in the burgeoning arts community of Bridgeport, the evening will feature a formal dinner, cocktails and an artist discussion—individual tickets priced at $1,500 and $2,500 for a pair.

Additionally, guests will gain the opportunity to meet Yarrow and Crawford as they relay personal stories on their connection to pediatric cancer research.

"For some time, I had yearned to do my own interpretation of the advert. It is always a treat to work with the best, and Cindy is the best of the best. To date, our collaboration has already raised 1 million dollars for the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison Wisconsin, and this series should help this number materially. It was all rather surreal being at that location made famous by her and I am proud of what we achieved. It was a team effort and we both have excellent teams," said photographer David Yarrow.

"It's always a pleasure and a thrill to work with my friend David Yarrow,” said Cindy Crawford “and even more so when it's for a good cause. We returned to the original Halfway House from the famous Pepsi commercial I did in 1992 to recreate the moment (with a David Yarrow twist) in hopes of raising funds for the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, where my brother was treated for leukemia."

All donations made during the event to the University of Wisconsin's Pediatric Cancer Center Care Unit will be matched by Cindy Crawford. Ticket prices will be credited towards purchasing any David Yarrow works with the credit amount matched by Arica Hilton, owner of Hilton | Asmus Contemporary, as a donation. David Yarrow will additionally donate half of all profits from photograph sales over the course of the evening to the university.

About David Yarrow
Traveling extensively across seven continents, Yarrow, regarded as one of the most accomplished nature photographers working today, has spent much of the past three decades in remote locales capturing grippingly intimate portraits of vulnerable and endangered wildlife. A passionate conservationist, Yarrow supports a variety of charitable foundations such as Tusk Trust, Wildark, and the Kevin Richardson Foundation.

In addition to wildlife photography, David Yarrow has documented far-flung cultures and indigenous communities around the globe. Alaskan hunters, the Himba of Namibia and the Dinka of South Sudan have all been captured in his photographs. In 2017, Yarrow travelled to North Korea at the invitation of the government. Over the course of an eight-day visit, he was able to venture into the countryside and access rare glimpses of everyday life.

“I was overwhelmed by the emotive quality of David’s photographs from the first moment I saw them,” said gallery founder & curator Arica Hilton. “Once you learn about David’s methods and the care with which he approaches his subject matter, you cannot help but become entranced. Wild animals have seldom been captured from such a close vantage point.”

About UW Health and University of Wisconsin Kids Cancer Program at UW Health’s American Family Children’s Hospital

For more than 50 years, the University of Wisconsin childhood cancer care team has been at the forefront of developing newer, more effective treatments that save more lives. The program is part of the UW Carbone Cancer Center and one of only a few select centers nationwide deemed comprehensive by the National Cancer Institute offering the latest treatments and protocols for childhood leukemia, brain tumors and neuroblastoma. UW’s pediatric cancer physicians and researchers were chosen among a select few to be part of a world-wide Pediatric Cancer “Dream Team” – sponsored by Stand Up to Cancer, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the Beau Biden Cancer Moonshot for research initiatives focused on immunotherapies that are more effective and less toxic than usual treatments.

UW Health is the integrated health system of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an assembly of seven hospitals employing 1,849 physicians caring for more than 700,000 patients each year at more than 140 locations and a partnership in a 365,000 member health plan.

UW Health is governed by the UW Hospitals and Clinics Authority and partners with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health to fulfill its patient care, research, education and community service missions. For more information visit https://www.uwhealth.org/
