Chicago Fire FC today announced that Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady was added to the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team roster for its March training camp. Brady will replace Gaga Slonina due to injury.
The U.S. Men’s Olympic Team us currently will face Guinea on Friday, March 22, in Olot, Spain, before traveling to face France on Monday, March 25 in Montbeliard, France. Both matches will be streamed on U.S. Soccer digital platforms.
Brady returns to the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team after playing two matches for the squad in the fall, helping the team to a 4-1 victory against the Japan U-23 Men’s National Team on Oct. 18, 2023, and falling 1-0 to Morocco on Nov. 21, 2023. The team qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games at the Concacaf U-20 Championship in July 2022, in which Brady won the Golden Glove as the tournament’s best goalkeeper after keeping four-straight shutouts in the knockout stage, including the Olympic-clinching semifinal against host Honduras.
The Naperville native is coming off registering his first career assist in Kellyn Acosta’s game-winning goal in the 4-3 come-from-behind win against CF Montréal on Saturday afternoon. Since making his Chicago Fire debut in 2022, Brady has solidified himself as the Fire’s starting goalkeeper, playing in 35 matches (35 starts) and earning eight clean sheets.
