This September, Chicago Humanities celebrates visionary, literary women.

On Sunday, September 17th, Emmy-nominated actress Millie Bobby Brown chats with Greta Johnsen (of WBEZ’s Nerdette podcast) about her creative process and debut novel, Nineteen Steps, which tells the story of a brave woman who proved the enduring power of love in the face of adversity during World War II. Fans in Chicago won't want to miss this chance to see this beloved actress in-person.

Then, just two days later on Tuesday, September 19th, Chicago Humanities hosts two literary powerhouses. First, at 6 PM, renowned social critic and author Naomi Klein joins acclaimed playwright V (formerly Eve Ensler) for an in-depth conversation about Artificial Intelligence, the difference between truth and fiction, and what happens when you run into your real-life doppelgänger. After experiencing this event, the public will surely be analyzing the culture of our modern world deep into the evening. And then at 8 PM, beloved author Zadie Smith will sit down for a live event about her newest, highly-anticipated historical novel, The Fraud. Fans won't want to skip out early: a book signing follows both of these events.

There's already plenty of other events celebrating brilliant women coming to Chicago Humanities this fall, including MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on October 19th, historian Heather Cox Richardson and other experts talking about the state of America's democracy on October 21st, and comedians Maria Bamford and Aparna Nancharla will team up on October 28th for what is sure to be an intimate and hilarious conversation about self-acceptance.

Insider scoop: many more exciting events will be announced on September 12th. Check out ChicagoHumanities.org for tickets and more information. And if you want advance word about these events -- and the opportunity to buy tickets before they sell out -- you can become a member and have access to the full Fall Festival line up a few days early, on September 7th.
