
Chicago Fire FC will return to Soldier Field on Saturday, April 30 to play host to the New York Red Bulls in the first matchup between the two teams this season. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. CT, Saturday’s contest will be broadcast live on WGN-TV, CF97 Live and transmitted in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM.

Chicago (2-2-4, 10 points) enters the match after suffering just its second defeat of the season with a 3-0 away loss to Minnesota United FC on April 23. However, the Fire are unbeaten in four league matches played at home (1-0-3) this season and remain tied with the Philadelphia Union and FC Dallas for the fewest goals conceded (five) through eight games played.
The Fire and the Red Bulls met three times in 2021, with Chicago securing two wins and a loss in the regular season series. The Fire tallied back-to-back victories against the Red Bulls last season, securing a 2-1 away win on Aug. 8 and a 1-0 home win on Aug. 28. Overall, the Fire lead the head-to-head series with a 30-20-13 record, including a 17-5-10 mark at home. Additionally, Chicago is unbeaten in its last three home games (2-0-1) against the Red Bulls.
Coming off a 3-0 away win against Orlando City SC, the Red Bulls (4-2-2, 14 points) are currently sitting in second place in the Eastern Conference. With today’s win against Orlando City, New York continued its impressive away form, extending its 2022 away record to a perfect 4-0-0 in the early stages of the campaign. The team is led in scoring by midfielder Lewis Morgan, who has found the back of the net four times in eight games played (eight starts).
