Chicago Fire FC will return to the Windy City to host Inter Miami CF at SeatGeek Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 10. Kickoff against Miami is set for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on WGN-TV and CF97 Live and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200AM.
Chicago will host Miami looking for a second win at home in the all-time head-to-head series. Earlier this year, the teams played to a scoreless draw in their first match of the season on Saturday, Feb. 26 at DRV PNK Stadium. It was the first of the team’s 12 shutouts so far in 2022.
The Fire (8-13-8, 32 points) are coming off a scoreless draw against the Columbus Crew on Saturday night at Lower.com Field. Goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina made a career-high nine saves against Columbus, and his 12 shutouts are currently good for the third-most in Major League Soccer.
Miami (10-12-6, 36 points) returns to action after a bye weekend, having fallen 1-0 against the Columbus Crew on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Lower.com Field. Miami’s 36 points have them sitting in eighth place in the Eastern Conference just below the playoff line, behind FC Cincinnati’s 38 points. It is the third consecutive road game for Phil Neville’s side as they look to snap a two-game losing streak.
