Chicago (2-0-2, 8 points) enters the matchup coming off back-to-back wins, defeating D.C. United 2-0 and Sporting Kansas City 3-1. With the fewest goals allowed (1) in the league, the Fire is currently off to its best four-game start since the 2009 campaign when the Club advanced to the semifinals of the MLS Cup Playoffs.
Saturday’s match will mark the first meeting between the two teams since the Fire’s 4-0 win at home on Sept. 14, 2019. Overall, the Club has tallied a 13-8-2 home record against Dallas, winning the last five games in Chicago (dating back to 5/23/12).
Led by USMNT players Paul Arriola and Jesus Ferreira, FC Dallas (2-1-1, 7 points) has played three of its first four games at home to start the season. Dallas enters the match having won its last two games, most recently defeating the Portland Timbers 4-1 on March 19. Ferreira leads the team in scoring (three) after notching his first career hat trick and the fastest hat trick in club history in the win over Portland.
