Chicago Fire FC will close out a stretch of three games in eight days when the team hosts first-place Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night and then travels to face Western Conference rival San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday.

Chicago’s match against Philadelphia Union will kick off at 7:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, June 29, at Soldier Field in what will be the Club’s annual Pride Night match . The match will be broadcast live on WGN, CF97 Live, and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200 AM. To celebrate the Fire’s involvement as one of the vanguard sponsors of the Common Goal’s Play Proud initiative, the Club will proudly display imagery throughout Soldier Field to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community. As the Philadelphia Union is also a member of the Play Proud cohort, both teams will come together shortly after the pre-match ceremonies on June 29 to hold a Play Proud banner in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Philadelphia Union (7-1-8, 29 points) is currently in first place in the Eastern Conference after a 2-1 win against New York City FC on Sunday night. Cory Burke scored in the sixth minute of stoppage time to secure the victory. Philadelphia is 2-0-3 in its last five games. Chicago has hosted the Union on 15 occasions, posting a 7-4-4 record. The Fire and the Union tied both matches they played against each other last season, with a 3-3 tie on June 26, 2021 at Soldier Field and a 1-1 tie on August 1, 2021 at Subaru Park.

Following the match against Philadelphia, Chicago will head to California to face a Western Conference opponent for the third time in eight days after traveling to play against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday.  San Jose was scheduled to face the L.A. Galaxy in the California Clasico on Saturday, June 25, but the match has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 24 because Stanford University has been experiencing a power outage due to an equipment failure caused by the nearby Edgewood Fire.

San Jose (3-7-6, 15 points) is coming off a 2-0 loss against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, June 18. Chicago and San Jose have faced each other on 39 occasions, with the last encounter being a 2-0 Chicago loss during the MLS is Back Tournament, which took place in the summer of 2020 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla. Sunday’s match will kick off at 8:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on WGN and CF97 Live and will be transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN 1200AM.

Chicago (3-8-5, 14 points) returns home after winning the last home match 1-0 against D.C. United with a game-winning goal from Fabian Herbers. The team followed the match with a trip to Houston, falling 2-0 to the Dynamo on Saturday.
