Chicago Fire FC today announced that Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady was selected to the final roster to represent the U-20 U.S. Men’s Youth National Team this June at the Concacaf U-20 Championship. The tournament will be played in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and will take place June 8-July 3, 2022. The 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship will serve as the region’s qualifying tournament for the FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games.

The U.S. was drawn into Group E of the Concacaf Men’s U-20 Championship along with Canada, Cuba and St. Kitts and Nevis. Led by U-20 MYNT head coach Mikey Varas, the U.S. will kick off their tournament run against St. Kitts and Nevis at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 18 before taking on Canada at 7:30 p.m. CT on Monday, June 20. Brady and the U.S. will close out Group E play against Cuba at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, June 22. All of the Group E matches will take place at the Estadio Nacional in Tegucigalpa.

For Brady, this will be his third time representing the USMYNT, after being part of a domestic training camp in April and being called in for a training camp in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in March. This will be his first appearance in an official tournament.

So far this season, the Naperville native has logged four starts for Chicago Fire FC II in MLS NEXT Pro. In those appearances, he’s recorded a victory, two clean sheets and 20 saves. During the 2020 season, Brady played on loan for Chicago Fire FC affiliate Forward Madison FC, where he became the team’s starting goalkeeper and earned USL League One 2020 Young Player of the Year honors.

On May 16, 2022, Brady signed an extension with the Fire, where he is under contract with his hometown club until the end of the 2026 season, with a Club option for 2027. He originally became the 19th Homegrown player in Club history when he signed a Homegrown contract in 2020.
