
Chicago Fire FC will resume regular-season action against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Children’s Mercy Park, continuing its stretch of six consecutive games on the road. The match against Sporting KC will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT on WGN-TV, CFFC Live and Latino Mix 93.5 FM.
Chicago (6-11-5, 23 points) heads to Kansas City with a 26-18-12 overall record against Sporting KC. It will be the first time the teams face each other this season, with the last encounter resulting in a 2-2 draw on Oct. 17, 2020 at Soldier Field.
Sporting KC (11-5-7, 40 points) hosts the Fire after traveling to face LAFC on Friday, Sept. 3. Kansas City suffered a 4-0 loss to Los Angeles FC at Banc of California Stadium, conceding three second half goals after a 58th minute red card left Sporting a man down.
The match against Kansas City marks the first of three road games in nine days for the Fire, who will then travel to face D.C. United on Wednesday, Sept. 15, and CF Montréal on Sunday, Sept. 19.
