Following a weekend break, Chicago will close out the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 7, at Lower.com Field against Columbus Crew on MLS Decision Day 2021. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on WGN-TV, ESPN+ and TUDN 1200 AM.
Sunday’s match will mark the 71st all-time meeting between the Fire (9-17-7, 34 points) and the Crew, with Chicago leading the series with a 27-21-22 record. The two teams have split the series this season with each team taking three points at their home stadium.
The defending MLS Cup Champions enter Sunday’s match in ninth place after keeping their Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs alive with a 3-1 victory over D.C. United at Audi Field on Saturday night. Since the Crew (12-13-8, 44 points) opened Lower.com Field on July 3, Columbus have accumulated a 6-4-2 home record, including winning five of the last six matches.
Most recently, the Fire fell to New York City FC 1-0 at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 27. The result marked the team’s first loss since Oct. 3, snapping a three-game unbeaten run.
