Chicago Fire FC and Major League Soccer announced the Club’s 34-game schedule for the 2022 MLS regular season. As previously announced, the Fire will kick off its 25th season in MLS on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Inter Miami CF (5:00 p.m. CT), before playing its 2022 home opener on Saturday, March 5 against Orlando City SC at Soldier Field. Scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. CT, the match against Orlando City will mark the earliest home opener date in Club history.
In addition to the Fire’s season and home opener, the Club’s 2022 home schedule includes several notable matchups. On Saturday, April 16, the Fire will host the LA Galaxy, marking the first meeting between the two teams since 2019 and the Galaxy’s first trip to Chicago since the 2018 season. The Fire will then go on to host Seattle Sounders FC (July 16), the recently crowned MLS Cup champion New York City FC (Aug. 21) and 2022 expansion side Charlotte FC (Sept. 17), before hosting the 2021 Supporters’ Shield champion New England Revolution on Decision Day (Oct. 9).
In 2022, the Fire will have at least five nationally televised matches, highlighted by an away matchup on April 23 against Minnesota United FC on ESPN. Additionally, the following Fire matches will be nationally televised on the Univision network: April 2 vs. FC Dallas (Univisión), April 9 at Orlando City SC (Univisión), June 18 vs. D.C. United ( UniMás), and June 25 at Houston Dynamo FC (UniMás). The Club’s local television broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
Starting on Friday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. CT, fans can purchase single-game tickets for the Fire’s 25th season here . Season tickets are currently on sale for the 2022 season, beginning as low as $425, and are available for purchase here or by calling 888-MLS-FIRE. Additionally, the Club is currently offering a Winter Three-Pack, which includes a ticket to the Fire’s home opener, a summer firework match on July 9, and the Oct. 9 season finale at Soldier Field, along with a Chicago Fire branded soccer ball, starting at just $60.
Chicago will play 17 home games and 17 away games during the 2022 campaign, facing each Eastern Conference opponent twice, while playing eight non-conference opponents (FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC, LA Galaxy, Minnesota United, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC, Sporting Kansas City, Vancouver Whitecaps).
The Club’s longest homestand of the 2022 season will occur from July 9 to July 16. During that stretch, Chicago will host Columbus Crew (July 9), Toronto FC (July 13) and the Sounders (July 16).
The Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs directly follow the regular season, with three consecutive weeks of action leading up to the 2022 MLS Cup on Saturday, Nov. 5, more than two weeks prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Nov. 21.
