Chesterton Art Center (CAC) is proud to announce Illuminations: Glass Artists of CAC featuring the works of Chesterton Art Center adult student artists in traditional stained glass, fused glass, mosaics and lamps September 13 to November 4, 2024, at the Ellen Firme Gallery located at 92 W US 12 in Beverly Shores. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, September 13, from 4 –7 PM. The gallery's regular hours are 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and Saturdays 10 AM to 4 PM.
Participating artists include Susan Anderson, Francie Bean, Machelle Bissonnette, Linda Bohney, Lynn Bremer, Bunny Callahan, David Chlebek, Billie Childress, Randy Greiger, Amanda Grove, Lisa Herr, Marlene Hrabota, Jane Kilander, Sue Kozak, Susan Kratzenberg, Rachel Lawrenz, Carol Lawrenz, Melanie Pergiel, Colin Roberts, Cheryl Stanley, Rose Terrazas, and Linda Vivirito.
The Chesterton Art Center is the destination for many artists in Northwest Indiana seeking to learn more about glass art. CAC offers an array of glass-related classes, the most popular being stained glass, open studio stained glass, and fused glass taught by Judy Gregurich, Mark Montgomery, Amanda Burton, and Mindy Milan who are also featured in the exhibit.
“We are grateful to partner again with Ellen Firme Gallery to highlight the works created by our students,” says CAC Executive Director Hannah Hammond-Hagman, “Mark, Judy, Amanda, and Mindy have created a thriving community of glass artists over the years, and this exhibition is a celebration of their and their students’ beautiful accomplishments.”
