Chesterton Art Center (CAC) is hosting its free Family Art Day on Saturday, May 13 from 10 AM to 2 PM CST. Kids and their favorite grown-ups are invited to participate anytime during those hours to tour the current exhibition and make art together. All ages are welcome and all materials are provided. While Family Art Day is free, please register at www.chestertonart.org/classes, or call (219) 926-4711 to reserve your family’s spaces.
With guidance from the CAC team, families will explore the work of Indiana-based artists Matthew Berg and Abbie Parmele whose work invites viewers into their personal memories + expressive minds.
In celebration of summer’s arrival, visitors can then move into our classroom to create a series of projects inspired by the warm weather and summer days ahead. Projects will include watercolor suns, ice cream drawings, framed beach scenes, and a card making station. All supplies provided, and you may want to dress for mess!
Chesterton Art Center’s free Family Art Days are an important initiative that works to tie together educational programming with CAC’s engaging exhibitions. “We welcome new and returning families to join us for this special event that showcases the wonderful work of Matthew Berg and Abbie Parmele. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than creating art together!” says Jillian Bridgeman, Program Director of Chesterton Art Center.
