On 1/7/2024 at approximately 8:20PM, Munster Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to 8445 Manor Avenue in reference to an active fire in the parking garage area. Upon arrival, Munster Police were informed that two vehicles were on fire and both vehicles were damaged as a result.
An investigation by the Munster Fire Department and our department’s Criminal Investigations Division found that the vehicles were set on fire with the use of gasoline as an accelerant.
A review of video surveillance cameras along with interviews from witness identified a suspect who was taken into custody on 1/9/2024. The suspect was charged with alleged Arson (Level 4 Felony), Arson (Level 4 Felony), and Criminal Mischief (A Misdemeanor).
