On October 27, 2023 at approximately 1:00pm, Munster Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Park West Circle for a reported home invasion. Three people inside the residence reported at least four armed subjects made entry into the home, bound them with zip ties and duct tape, battered them, and took several items including money and jewelry. One of the victims was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released. The other two victims were treated at the scene by medics.
Following an extensive investigation by the Munster Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, charges were filed against a Chicago suspect for alleged Burglary (level 1 felony), Burglary (level 2 felony), Robbery (level 2 felony), Armed Robbery (level 3 felony—3 counts), and Criminal Confinement (level 3 felony—four counts). The suspect is currently in custody in the Cook County Jail on unrelated charges.
