
Canterbury Summer Theatre presents The Taffetas: A Musical Journey Through the Fabulous Fifties, as, the fourth production of its 2026 season, performing July 22-August 1 at 807 Franklin Street in Michigan City.
Please note that the final Saturday performance will be a 2:00 pm matinee, instead of an evening show, due to the Block Party & Boat Parade downtown.
Conceived and written by Rick Lewis, the show follows four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana (America's Home Town) —Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl, and Donna—seeking their big break on a national television talent show.

A tribute to the girl groups of the 1950's,The Taffetas features the sounds of The McGuire Sisters, The Fontane Sisters and The Chordettes, among others.
A regional theatre favorite since its original off-Broadway bow in 1988, the musical was withdrawn from performance for several years, while the author revised and retooled the show. Canterbury is one of the first theatres in the country to present The Taffetas in its new incarnation.
The cast includes Canterbury Resident Company members, Jordan Holmes, Adina Lockwood, Sydney Morefield, and Daisy Obregon.
Canterbury Associate Director, Andrew Thrasher, stages the production with Jordan Holmes handling choreography. John Berst is the musical director.
Scenic design is by Lillith Ferrero with lighting by Avery Blank. Lisa Turner is costumer and Daniela Galloso is production stage manager.
The Canterbury Summer Theatre Resident Company is comprised of theatre artists hired from throughout the country, and has produced a season of musicals and plays in downtown Michigan City since 1969.
Canterbury performances are at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:00 pm. Regular admission price is $22.00, $20.00 for seniors (62 and above), and $11.00 for students and military.

Canterbury Summer Theatre, one of the Midwest's oldest professional summer companies, is produced under the auspices of the Canterbury Guild, a nonprofit arts organization, which also manages the Canterbury Winter Arts Series.
