
Canterbury Summer Theatre presents the first musical of its 2025 season, A Year with Frog and Toad, performing June 25-July 5, with no show on July 4. The theatre is located at 807 Franklin Street in Michigan City.
The production features a book and lyrics by Willie Reale, with music by Robert Reale.
Based on the beloved children's books by Arnold Lobel, the original Broadway premiere was a major hit, and nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, this whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons. The pair celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special.

This charming, witty and warm musical is recommended for the entire family.
The production is staged by Canterbury Artistic Director, Ray Scott Crawford. Choreography is by Grace Kelly Kretzmer and Rebecca Richmond is music director.
The cast includes Devon Baxa, Christopher Conte, Jakob Innes, Eva Kreighbaum, Grace Kelly Kretzmer, Kacey Marovich, Jacob Meza, and Emilie Richardson.
Scenic design is by Crawford with lighting by Audrey Johnson. Julia Parr provides costume design and Laurel Greenway will be production stage manager.
The Canterbury Resident Company is comprised of theatre artists hired from throughout the country, which has produced a season of musicals and plays in downtown Michigan City since 1969.

Canterbury performances are at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:00 pm. Regular admission price is $22.00, $20.00 for seniors (62 and above), and $11.00 for students and military.
