Canterbury Summer Theatre presents its third production of the 2023 season, The Pin-Up Girls, performing July 5-15. The theatre is located at 807 Franklin Street in Michigan City.

The musical is written by James Hindman and Jeffrey Lodin.

From The Andrew Sisters to hip-hop, from World War I to Afghanistan, the Pin-Up Girls sing a cavalcade of popular hits inspired by letters home from our troops overseas.

While singing at their local VFW hall, Leanne and her friends stumble upon a huge stash of letters that go back a hundred years. Inspired by what they find— funny, romantic, heartbreaking and sexy— the ladies put on a show that celebrates the guys and gals who fight to defend our country.

The production is staged by Canterbury veteran, Lari Leber. She previously directed No Way To Treat A Lady, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and Vanities: The Musical.

Choreography is by Victoria Hickman, with music direction by John Berst.

The cast includes Reid Graham, Victoria Hickman, Sophie Stechmann and Jenna Weisbach.

Scenic design is by Ray Scott Crawford with lighting by Alex Gray. Amber Garitt provides costume design and Annabelle Lamb will be production stage manager.

The Canterbury Resident Company is comprised of theatre artists hired from throughout the country, which has produced a season of musicals and plays in downtown Michigan City since 1969.

Canterbury performances are at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays, and Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:00 pm. Regular admission price is $20.00, $18.00 for seniors (62 and above), and $10.00 for students and military.

Tickets can be purchased by phone at (219) 874-4269 or e-mail info@canterburytheatre.org

Canterbury Summer Theatre, one of the Midwest's oldest professional summer companies, is produced under the auspices of the Canterbury Guild, a nonprofit arts organization, which also manages the Canterbury Winter Arts Series.
