
Canterbury Summer Theatre continues its 2022 season with The World Goes 'Round, a celebration of award-winning Broadway tunesmiths, Kander and Ebb, performing July 6-16. The theatre is located at 807 Franklin Street in Michigan City.
John Kander (music), and the late Fred Ebb (lyrics), were one of America's most successful songwriting teams. Known primarily for their stage musicals, such as Cabaret, Chicago, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Curtains, they also scored several motion pictures, including Martin Scorsese's New York, New York.
The pair's most popular tunes include Cabaret, All That Jazz, New York, New York, Maybe This Time, Mr. Cellophane, and many more.
Filled with humor, romance, drama and nonstop melody, this revue is a thrilling exploration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going. Five individuals find themselves careening through the world of love, babies and coffee.The nonstop hit-parade features unforgettable gems, seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
The production is staged by Canterbury Associate Director, Stephanie Murry, who is Producing Artistic Director for the North Dakota Shakespeare Festival, and theatre faculty member at Ouachita Baptist University. Choreography is by Kate Drury.
The Canterbury Music Director this season is Yuanhung Lin. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Mississippi, and also studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in England.
The cast is Mitchell Bauer, Kate Drury, Mai Hartwich, Massimo Manfredini, and Kendall Shamus.

Scenic design is by David White with lighting by Julie Adams. Amber Garitt provides costume design and Danie Boyster will be production stage manager.
The Canterbury Resident Company, comprised of theatre artists hired from throughout the country, has produced a season of musicals, plays and thrillers in downtown Michigan City since 1969.
Canterbury performances are at 2:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 pm on Fridays, and Saturdays at 6:30 pm. Regular admission price is $20.00, $18.00 for seniors (62 and above), and $10.00 for students and military.

Canterbury will follow health and safety protocols as set forth by the Indiana State Health Department, implementing socially-distanced seating and other precautions. Patrons are not required to wear masks, but are recommended to do so if they feel it necessary.
