South Shore Arts is pleased to announce that submissions will open on Monday, April 6, 2026 for the 83rd Annual Salon Show: My America, on view June 19 through August 15, 2026. This year’s exhibition marks a milestone moment -250 years since the founding of the United States–by inviting artists to reflect on a question that is both deeply personal and widely resonant: What is “My America”? Deadline for submissions are Friday, May 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
As South Shore Arts’ first themed Salon Show, My America encourages artists to move beyond traditional notions of patriotism and instead explore the complexities, contradictions, and possibilities that shape their understanding of the nation. Whether reflecting on history, engaging with the present, or imagining the future, artists are invited to interpret “America” as an evolving idea - one informed by memory, identity, and lived experience.
In the spirit of the salon tradition, this exhibition celebrates a diversity of perspectives, bringing together works that range from intimate reflections to bold statements. Through this collective dialogue, My America becomes not a single narrative, but a chorus of voices - each offering insight into how the idea of America is continually shaped, questioned, and reimagined. We invite you to share your vision and be part of this dynamic and timely exhibition.
