CABARET ZAZOU is a unique entertainment experience where raucous comedy, extraordinary live music, international cirque performances and a multi-course feast collide. The immersive variety dinner show takes place in a vintage Spiegeltent on the 14th floor of the Cambria Hotel in the heart of Chicago’s Theatre District.
As guests enter the exquisite CABARET ZAZOU lobby, they will be transported to a different place and time where the experience is intimate, interactive and classy. The lobby is adorned with chandeliers, candelabras, a champagne bar and seating, allowing guests an opportunity to mingle and enjoy a pre-show beverage. Audience members are encouraged to “dress to the nines” as was common decades ago. Those who bring their fashion A game to CABARET ZAZOU have an especially grand time and come away with fabulous photos.
The show is performed in a 300-seat authentic Belgian Spiegeltent, consisting of gorgeous wood, stained glass and mirrors. Due to the intimate layout of the tent, guests can interact with fellow audience members as well as cast members who move throughout the space during the performance.
Under the direction of Dreya Weber, CABARET ZAZOU is a thrilling and eclectic series of acts, each totally astounding and delivered by top talent in each of their performance categories. Guests are enthralled by the vocal stylings of LiV Warfield and James Harkness, backed by a world class band led by Chicago Jazz great Chuck Webb, and featuring Theodis Rodgers, Jon Negus, Phil Seed and Jose Martinez.
The acrobats in CABARET ZAZOU come from all around the globe and leave audience members in awe as they demonstrate skills that push the limits of the human body. Current cirque performers include Viktor Kee (master juggler from Ukraine), Ulzii Mergen (extraordinary contortionist from Mongolia) and the dazzling and sometimes shocking, Trio Vertex from England, who will blow you away with their strength, skills and emotion. Trio Vertex is composed of Isis Clegg-Vinell, Nathan Price and Cornelius Atkinson.
To bring levity to the show, audience members enjoy the unmatched, interactive scenes performed by veteran actor/comedian, Frank Ferrante, who will have them crying with laughter, and who may just invite some of them onstage to become a part of the act.
The dining at CABARET ZAZOU matches the elegant environment of the venue. A four-course meal, provided by Blue Plate, is integrated right into the show. Guests enjoy drinks and delicious food. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to socialize between acts.
Evening performances begin at 7:00 p.m. Matinee performances, which include a special brunch menu, are at 12:00 p.m. on Sundays. Audience members are encouraged to arrive any time after the doors open at 5:30 p.m. Those who come early can enjoy a unique champagne bar, or a full bar complete with specialty cocktails, wine and beer; and then have time to explore and relax in CABARET ZAZOU’s breathtaking lobby. Pre-show entertainment begins in the Spiegeltent approximately 30 minutes prior to showtime.
