(Columbus) Indiana Conservation Officers have recovered the body of 17 year-old male from Tipton Lake.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. last night, responders were dispatched to the Tipton Lake swimming area for a subject that went under the water and never resurfaced.
A short time later, the victim was recovered in approximately twelve feet of water near a swimming platform.
The investigation is ongoing, and an exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Agencies assisting with the recovery include Indiana Conservation Officers, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, Columbus Police Department, Columbus Township Fire, Columbus Fire, Columbus Regional Hospital Medics.
