
Blues fans will want to take a seat in the audience for Black Ensemble Theatre's newest show.
“Blue Heaven,” which was written and directed by Daryl D. Brooks, is the current show starring on stage at BET. The production runs to Oct. 26. “Blue Heaven,” tells a type of fantasy story, where five deceased legendary blues artists, while gathered in a club in what is meant to be the great beyond, talk about their lives and careers and share their music with one another.

The production draws audiences in with passionate acting and superb vocals. The artists portrayed in this show are B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Big Mama Thornton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Starring as the acclaimed musicians are Lyle Miller, Cynthia Carter, Dwight Neal, JJ Smith and Aaron Reese Boseman. The show also features a backing band of excellent musicians.
Among highlighted tunes in the show are “Little Red Rooster,” “I Ain't Got Nobody,” “Ball and Chain,”/”Hound Dog,” “The Thrill Is Gone” and “Let the Good Times Roll.”
