Valparaiso will soon receive a monumental sculpture if Valparaiso Creative Council's crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $45,000, by October 3, 2023. If successful, the project led by Valparaiso Creative Council will receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) "CreatINg Places Program".
Funds from this #ARTinthePARK campaign will support a Valparaiso sculptor with the building, installation, lighting and celebration of the featured piece to be permanently located at the new Flounder and Friends Skate Park.

In conjunction with this effort, Valparaiso Creative Council has slated its annual event "Let's Sk8 Fundraiser" to help reach their campaign goal.
Let’s SK8 FUNdraiser to take place Saturday, August 26 from 12-3pm at Butterfield Pavilion in Fairgrounds Park, Valparaiso, IN.
This will be a kid-friendly FREE event catering to skaters, bikers, and wheel enthusiasts of all ages within the Valpo community and beyond! Fun challenges and games will coincide with the #wheeliefun theme. So ride in on your wheels to support this cause and help activate the Arts locally!
At the heart of this initiative is The Valparaiso Creative Council, serving as a bridge for our artists, community, youth, city leaders, businesses, and visitors alike. The VCC connects artistic opportunities to all stakeholders through exciting community projects, initiatives, fundraisers, and events such as this.
We have many opportunities available for volunteering, booth space, and sponsorships before our August 26th event! Deadline is approaching!
