Looking for something for your K-6 student to do over Spring Break? For the first time in Art Barn history, there will be a special, week-long Spring Break Art Camp, providing the opportunity for children to discover art and nature at Art Barn. With each day bringing a new theme to explore, kids will get to try out some of Art Barn's in-demand, Summer Camp programming themes this spring. Children will explore a variety of art mediums from printmaking and collage, to journaling and drawing in nature! Art Barn's new Spring Break Camp will take place from Monday, March 24, 2025 to Friday, March 28, 2025. Parents can register kids for the full week, or for one day. Let your kid enjoy spring break making art, friends, and enjoying the outdoors!
For the past decade, Art Barn has hosted Guest Artist Workshops, providing the community access to internationally renowned teaching artists. These workshops offer adult students the chance to enhance specific skills in a collaborative environment while networking with other artists from near and far.
On April 4-5, don’t miss Kristy Kutch, a renowned colored pencil artist and author of two colored pencil technique books, and her presentation of Drawing Inspiration from Nature with Watercolor Pencil in this 2-day workshop at Art Barn. With an emphasis on floral art with watercolor pencils, students will create paintings, as these works are aptly called, on white, colored, and varied surfaces. Kutch offers demonstrations, personal attention, and a wealth of information. Welcome spring with some floral inspiration! Lunch will be provided each day. Registration deadline for Kutch's Watercolor Pencil Workshop is Friday, March 21.
In addition to these exciting program highlights that are being offered at Art Barn this spring, there will also be some new and returning classes and workshops to look forward to in the winter months.
Professional photographer and videographer, Aran Kessler, will be teaching a 1-day workshop titled "Photographing Your Artwork" on Saturday, January 25 where he will teach students how to professionally photograph their artwork. Kessler will also provide photography services at a discounted rate after the workshop for those who wish to document their 2D artwork for art show submissions, like for those applying to Art Barn's Annual Juried Art Show, or personal documentation.
