The Art Barn School of Art is excited to announce Area Artist Association's exhibit titled "Knee High by the Fourth of July", on display through September 1, 2024. An artist reception will be held at the Art Barn on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 2-4pm. There will be a chance to meet the artists and enjoy light bites and refreshments. Area Artists Association is a group of 44 members, with 18 of these members participating in this upcoming exhibition.
“Knee High By The Fourth of July” is a common saying that is an embedded marker of our land, our country, and our lives. Artists working in multiple disciplines and mediums, challenge this marker. Art can reflect upon the past, represent the present or look into the future. As we move ahead, what will be our visual markers for success and prosperity? This exhibit begs to question "What do we think about these traditions that may no longer be true?" and "What part does art play in building new foundations or in sustaining past traditions?"
"We are pleased to partner, for the first time, with the Area Artist Association to feature the thought provoking works of their membership and offer our space to artists who live and work in our community", says Art Barn Executive Director, Amy Davis-Navardauskas.
