ABOUT THE TWENTY-SIDED TAVERN
The Worlds of Tabletop Roleplay Games and Theatre Combine to Create an Interactive Experience. The Twenty-Sided Tavern is an improvised quest play. Relying on audience participation, each performance is uniquely tailored to decisions made by audience members on their phones using patented software from Gamiotics. Audience members choose which characters will appear each evening, which paths they will take, and which decisions they will make along the journey. The in-mobile-browser platform does not require any special consoles, instead running on audience members' phones.
Inspired by the world created by Dungeons and Dragons, The Twenty-Sided Tavern is functionally similar but legally distinct from all other tabletop roleplaying games. Knowledge of the tabletop roleplay world is not required, as the structure of the game will be communicated within the show.
Created by David Andrew Greener Laws, Sarah Davis Reynolds, and David Carpenter, The Twenty-Sided Tavern is written by Laws and game designed by Reynolds. It is directed by Nik Whitcomb, with production design by Caite Hevner, prop and costume design by Katie McGeorge, and original compositions by Benjamin Doherty.
