Fargo-Moorhead 6 Kane County 3

Ryan Flores dominated on the mound, striking out fifteen in a complete game and Jordan George homered and drove in four as the Redhawks (46-32) beat the Cougars (37-40) 6-3 on Thursday night at Newman Outdoor Field.  After single runs in the second and third inning, George launched a three-run shot as part of a four-run fifth inning for Fargo-Moorhead.  Flores, meanwhile, threw just 22 balls in a 110-pitch masterpiece and allowed only a three-run sixth inning homer to Kane County’s Josh Rolette.

Lincoln 5 Milwaukee 4

Justin Byrd and Yairo Perez homered in a four-run top of the first inning and the Saltdogs (42-35) withstood a late rally for a 5-4 win over the Milkmen (47-30) on Thursday evening.  Byrd launched a solo shot and Perez lifted a two-run shot for an early Lincoln lead.  Milwaukee got single runs in the first, sixth, seventh, and ninth but could not tie the game as their division lead shrunk yet again.

Cleburne 8 Sioux Falls 7

Five homers, including two from Osvaldo Martinez, were just enough for the Railroaders (41-35) to squeak out an 8-7 win over the Canaries (28-49) on Thursday night.  Martinez hit a solo shot in the first before Chase Simpson and Noah Vaughan did the exact same in the second for Cleburne.  In the fifth, Josh Nester added a solo homer before Martinez went deep for a two-run shot later that inning.  Sioux Falls had four homers of their own (Jabari Henry launched a solo shot, Zane Gurwitz had two solo homers, and Cade Gotta added a two-run shot) in the loss.

Houston 12 Gary SouthShore 10

The Apollos (12-64) used a six-run seventh and three-run eighth to erase a six-run deficit in a 12-10 win over the Railcats (31-47) on Thursday night.  Trailing 9-3 after back-to-back four-run Gary innings, Houston responded with six runs on six hits to tie the game in the seventh, highlighted by a Yelier Peguero two-run single.  In the eighth, Blake Berry singled home the lead run before Aaron Takacs hit a two-run homer.  Alec Olund hit a solo homer in the ninth for Gary.

Kansas City 16 Sioux City 3

A four-run fifth inning broke open a one-run game, and the Monarchs (53-25) roughed up the Explorers (40-38) bullpen in a 16-3 win on Thursday night.  Darnell Sweeney opened the scoring for Kansas City in the second with a three-run double.  Charcer Burks had a two-run single in the fifth and from there the Monarchs took off thanks to a 22-hit attack that included a two-run homer by Colin Willis.

Winnipeg 8 Chicago 5- Suspended in 9th

The game was suspended due to fireworks display and will be resumed when the teams meet in three weeks in Winnipeg.
