Chicago 5 Sioux Falls 3

Jordan Kipper went eight innings, Danny Mars and K.C. Hobson each drove home a pair and the Dogs (29-18) beat the Canaries (19-27) by a score of 5-3 on Friday night.  Hobson doubled home a pair in a three-run first for Chicago and Mars drove home two with a double in the second inning.  Kipper took control from there, limiting Sioux Falls to seven hits while striking out six.  Troy Alexander and Zane Gurwitz homered for the Canaries.

Fargo-Moorhead 6 Lincoln 5

Leobaldo Pina and Correlle Prime each homered, and the RedHawks (27-21) ended a three-game skid with a 6-5 win over the Saltdogs (22-24) on Friday night.  Pina’s solo homer in the first was canceled out by a two-run shot by Lincoln’s Josh Altmann in the bottom half.  Skylar Weber launched another two-run shot in the second, but Fargo-Moorhead would come back.  Jordan George’s third inning single tied the game at 4 before Prime gave the RedHawks the lead with his solo shot in the fifth.  Dylan Kelly walked to force home the winning run in the eighth.

Cleburne 6 Kane County 1

Austin Fairchild allowed only one run in five innings, and Ramon Hernandez launched two homers as the Railroaders (26-20) beat the Cougars (24-24) 6-1 on Friday night.  Josh Allen homered for Kane County in the third for the early lead but in the fifth, Noah Vaughan launched a three-run shot and Hernandez hit the first of two to take a 4-1 lead.  Hernandez added a two-run shot in the ninth to cap the scoring.  Fairchild allowed only four hits to pick up the win.

Milwaukee 5 Houston 4 F/12

Adam Brett Walker II hit a walk-off ground-rule double in the twelfth and the Milkmen (27-19) edged the Apollos (7-39) 5-4 in twelve on Friday night.  Milwaukee had a 3-0 lead after one, highlighted by a Logan Trowbridge single and led until the eighth.  Houston rallied in the top of the eighth with an Aaron Takacs single and Daniel Aldrich single to tie it at 4-4, setting up Walker II’s dramatic hit in the twelfth.

Kansas City 8 Sioux City 2

Darnell Sweeney had two doubles and a leadoff homer in the first as the Monarchs (28-18) cruised to an 8-2 win over the Explorers (28-19) on Friday night.  Ten batters hit for Kansas City in the fourth as they scored six runs on six hits to blow the game open, highlighted by a two-run single and a run scored by Jan Hernandez.  D.J. Poteet was 3-for-3 for Sioux City.

Gary SouthShore 8 Winnipeg 1

Six runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth overturned a 1-0 deficit as the Railcats (21-26) ended the Goldeyes (21-24) three-game winning streak with an 8-1 win on Friday night.  In the seventh, Alec Olund tied the game with a triple and later scored on a Tom Walraven single to give Gary SouthShore the lead.  Ryan Cash would add a two-run bases loaded single to extend the lead.
