Last week, devastating storms swept through Northwest Indiana, leaving Humane Indiana without power and forcing us to evacuate our shelter while our team worked around the clock to keep our animals safe.
Wednesday, less than two hours after our doors reopened and our power was restored, 48 more dogs arrived. Then 25 more.

These dogs were rescued from a local hoarding situation after a large tree crashed onto the trailer where they had been living during the storm.
