This past December 10th, the Munster Police Department held our 20th Annual Cops & Kids holiday shopping event at Target in Munster. Over 80 children from 34 area families were assisted through the program this year.
The dedicated members of the Munster Junior Woman’s Club worked with our department on this event once again this year by providing a generous donation, welcoming guests, assisting our officers with shopping with the participating families, and providing gift cards for turkeys to the families as they left the store. In addition, several members of the Choice Community Council also shopped with families and greatly assisted us that evening during the event. THANK YOU to all of our volunteers for making it a fun and memorable night for the children involved.
We would also like to thank Target for hosting our event and their staff for their assistance and support that evening. IN addition to many generous residents who provided monetary donation this year, we would also like to thank our additional sponsors: Munster Mustangs Hockey, Leung Family Dental, K&M Heating and Cooling, Barbara Shaver-Attorney at Law, the Munster Chamber of Commerce, Lansing Cleaners, Munster-Highland Tri-Kappa, the Munster Kiwanis Club, Kraz Construction, and the Munster Historical Society.
