The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) is releasing the 2025 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for a 30-day public comment period. The public comment period will begin April 4, 2025, and end on May 4, 2025.
The CEDS serves as a strategy-driven plan for regional economic development within the NIRPC Economic Development District (EDD) which includes Lake, Porter, and La Porte counties. An update to NIRPC’s CEDS is required at least every five years in order for the EDD to qualify for assistance from the Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance programs. NIRPC’s Economy & Place Committee, serving as the CEDS Strategy Committee, worked collaboratively with Purdue’s Center for Regional Development (PCRD) and other regional and local stakeholders to prepare the 2025 CEDS.
The 2025 CEDS is available for review here: NIRPC-CEDS-Draft-4.4.2025.pdf. Requests for alternative formats may be directed by to nirpc@nirpc.org or by calling 219-763-6060.
