Our 15th annual Lakeshore Classic is upon us once again and we are writing to you seeking your support for this year’s amazing event. The Lakeshore Classic is a regional event that attracts students and adults to Northwest Indiana from the region, Indianapolis, and Chicago. This family and community-oriented event showcases our students and student athletes. It certainly raises educational awareness and draws upon the parallels between sports participation and academic achievement. Being the only event of its type in Northwest Indiana and Greater Chicagoland area. The Lakeshore Classic is designed to encourage our region’s youth to follow a path that will lead to success. “Civility” is the theme of this years’ classic. We will make our youth and adults aware of the importance of being civil and adhering to The Golden Rule.
Our Corporate Luncheon speaker this year is a major force in Chicago sports broadcasting, Jim Rose, ABC 7 Sports Director, and Anchor for the top-rated Chicagoland station. Rose, known for being one of Chicago’s go-to sports authorities, also has played a major role in the station’s Emmy Award-winning programming specials. The Corporate Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. It starts at 11:30 am and will be held at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana, 5400 W. 29th Avenue, Gary Indiana. On November 24 & 25, 2023 the Classic basketball games will take place at West Side Leadership Academy, 900 Gerry Street, Gary.
