TheatreSquared (T2) Artistic Director Robert Ford and Executive Director Shannon A. Jones today announced the company’s 2025-2026 season. Season packages are on sale today at theatre2.org/subscribe, with seven-play packages starting at $180, and four-play packages starting at $104.

"Twenty years ago, Amy Herzberg, myself, and a small group of friends came to believe that our community could sustain a professional theatre," said Ford at the organization’s Season Unveiling event on Monday night. "Now, after tens of thousands of hours worked, thousands of performances, and countless lives touched—that dream has become a reality beyond our wildest imaginations."

"The season we’re presenting isn’t just an extension of our mission—it’s a celebration," added co-founder and Associate Artistic Director Amy Herzberg. "It’s a love letter to this community and a testament to what 20 years of dreaming big can create."

2025-2026 Season Highlights

KEN LUDWIG’S THE THREE MUSKETEERS
August 20 – September 7, 2025
A rakish, daring delight of a show: Dive into a swashbuckling romp with Ken Ludwig’s celebrated adaptation of The Three Musketeers! This thrilling production blends razor-sharp wit, pulse-racing duels, and the unstoppable spirit of friendship. Reignite your sense of adventure and be swept away by a story where camaraderie wins the day—"All for one, and one for all!"

MALCOLM X AND REDD FOXX WASHING DISHES AT JIMMY’S CHICKEN SHACK IN HARLEM
October 1 – October 26, 2025
A cornerstone of T2’s mission is fostering new work, and this world premiere is proof of that commitment. Commissioned by T2, Jonathan Norton’s Malcolm X and Redd Foxx Washing Dishes at Jimmy’s Chicken Shack in Harlem received a staged reading at the 2024 Arkansas New Play Festival. It’s 1943. Two young Harlemites—Little and Foxy—form an unlikely friendship over leftover fried chicken and dirty dishwater. A long, hot summer of heartbreak, betrayal, and racial uprising moves them farther from each other—but closer to the history-making American icons they are destined to become.

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE
November 19 – December 24, 2025
This year, T2 will ring in the holidays with Robert Ford’s adaptation of the Christmas classic, It’s A Wonderful Life, a picture-perfect, family-friendly show. Eight actors portray 65+ roles in T2’s original adaptation of what the American Film Institute called "the century’s most inspirational film." It’s A Wonderful Life follows George Bailey’s poignant journey as he puts his dreams on hold to rescue the family business. On Christmas Eve he stands alone, wishing he’d never been born, when a mysterious stranger appears. In this profound tale of redemption and holiday magic, George Bailey learns that "no man is a failure who has friends."

THE BOOK CLUB PLAY
January 21 – February 8, 2026
This witty comedy by Karen Zacarías’ is about books and the people who love them. Ana’s book club is tested when a documentary crew captures their meetings—and their secrets. With a bold new member and some surprising book choices, their discussions take a turn for the hilarious. Enjoy this buoyant comedy about life, love, and what happens when friends start reading between the lines.

THE GARBOLOGISTS
March 4 – March 29, 2026
Spring brings a moving story of unexpected friendship to the T2 stage. discover the beauty and complexity in the day-to-day lives of two New York City sanitation workers from different worlds in Lindsay Joelle’s The Garbologists. Danny, a white, blue-collar New York sanitation worker, is paired with Marlowe, a Black, Ivy-educated newbie. Thrown together in a garbage truck cab, they spar, one-up each other, and hunt for discarded treasures. The Garbologists is a heartfelt, humorous look at the things we hold dear, wrapped in humor and humanity.

ARKANSAS NEW PLAY FESTIVAL
March 2026
See next year’s smash stage hit in your own backyard. T2’s Arkansas New Play Festival brings trailblazing new plays to life, offering audiences the unique opportunity to experience new works in progress, engage in post-show discussions, and help shape the future of American theatre.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
April 15 – May 10, 2026

In April, one of the world’s favorite romances will hit the T2 stage as Robert Ford and Amy Herzberg debut their heart-stirring adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Fall in love again with the sparkling wit and super-charged romance of Jane Austen’s beloved novel. T2's adaptation will both delight and challenge, as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy navigate the minefields of pride, prejudice, and their undeniable attraction for each other.

"This production is particularly exciting as it highlights our new partnership with the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences Department of Theatre," says Jones. "We’re excited to highlight the talents of the skilled students within the MFA program with this production specifically adapted for the T2 stage."

EUGENE ONEGIN—A BLUEGRASS MUSICAL
June 3 – June 21, 2026
T2 closes the season with another world premiere: Sarah Gancher’s Eugene Onegin—A Bluegrass Musical. Developed at the 2024 Arkansas New Play Festival, this musical is a potent mix of original bluegrass and country, barbeque, and feverish young love. Pushkin's novel and Tchaikovsky's opera are reimagined, now set in 1940s rural Arkansas, where a girl who dreams of writing songs falls for a magnetic touring musician.

"We’re honored to be a part of this community, and we can’t wait to share what is sure to be a joyous, thrilling, and magnetic season—full of delight and groundbreaking work," said Jones.
