Chicago-based Transit Tees, a creative group that produces Chicago-inspired products and games, is excited to announce The Chicago Handshake Passport Party on Thursday, September 22nd from 6-9 p.m. at Emporium Logan Square, 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave. Free registration as well as specialty packages are available for purchase here—plus a portion of the night’s sales benefit Another Round Another Rally, a nonprofit that continues to provide relief assistance for Chicago bars, restaurants, and hotels.

Visitors can support local bars and distillers at the most Chicago party of the year where that notorious, love-hate Chicago Handshake combo, an Old Style beer and a shot of Malört, will be on special. The exclusive menu features Chicago-style Vienna Beef hot dogs and other food items with a Chicago Handshake twist. Enjoy a live local DJ, play Emporium’s retro arcade games and enter to win one-of-a kind Chicago-themed giveaways. Even capture your Malört face in a custom photo booth…if you dare!

The party is also the grand finale event for Transit Tee’s Chicago Handshake Passport Challenge, which invited players to explore Chicago neighborhoods and receive a unique stamp in their passport at 15 independently owned bars by ordering that rite of passage, the Chicago Handshake. Players that complete passports will be rewarded with a limited-edition Chicago Handshake Challenge Coin at the party.

“We’re a Chicago team working hard to create games that build on fun, local traditions while giving our friends and family something to talk about for years to come. To us, there’s nothing more Chicago than a Chicago Handshake—and supporting our local bars and restaurants. We hope you’ll come out to join the fun!” said Transit Tees Owner and Founder Tim Gillengerten.

While registration and entry are free, packages are available for purchase with drink tickets, arcade tokens and specialty items including Chicago handshake beer glasses, shot glasses, coozies, barkeys and more. In addition, there will be limited giveaways of Transit Tees Chicago-inspired products including newly-designed Chicago Handshake tees, pints, shots, flags, koozies and more—also available for sale at www.transittees.com or at both Transit Tees locations in Wicker Park (1371 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago) and Andersonville (5226 N. Clark Street, Chicago).

More details about the Chicago Handshake Passport Challenge and updates on the grand finale event will be available at www.transittees.com. Players may choose to upload completed passports for a verification code to receive a limited-edition Chicago Handshake Challenge Coin at the event or simply receive the Challenge Coin at the event by showing a completed Passport.

About Transit Tees

Transit Tees, founded in 2001 by Tim Gillengerten, takes visuals from Chicago's metropolitan landscapes and transforms them into games, fashionable artwork, accessories, home goods and apparel. Their most recent hit, the Chicago Handshake Drinking Card Game, launched in fall 2021. An official manufacturer for the Chicago Transit Authority, two recent games, the LOOP Card Game and EL Board Game, were also runaway successes. Transit Tees locally designs, fabricates, and retails their signature brand online and at two storefronts in Wicker Park and Andersonville. Most store items are created in their design studio and produced on-site by in-house artists and craftsmen. For more information, visit www.transittees.com.
