Negotiating is ‘a process’ that we all engage in…more than we recognize. Sometimes it is for ourselves with, and/or on behalf of our family, more times it is for our business, but we are involved in some kind of negotiations almost every day. The objective is always to try “to reach an agreement” of some sort.
SCORE’s Jim Hubbard, an experienced attorney and labor relations specialist with over 40 years of negotiating experience will share some key insights and approaches to first understanding the dynamics at work between the parties in a negotiation and then how to determine the best approach to use in getting to that “desired agreement”. Win-Win; Win-Lose; Lose-Lose are commonly thought of as the only outcomes options…but are there more?
Attendees will come away with some different ways to look at the interpersonal dynamics involved in “negotiating” and how to understand and operate within some of the key elements of this “process”.
